Five for Friday

Today was our LAST day!!!

Where did this year go?  It seems like just yesterday it was January!

It was bittersweet for me as I'm leaving 2nd grade and moving to 4th.  There were lots of tears!!!

Here are some things going on in my life as we get ready for Summer...

1)  My kiddos played my Summertime Scoot game.  They enjoyed this so much (and it kept them active during these last few antsy days).

2)  I made a trip to the Dollar Tree (LOVE that place!).  I thought these expandable files would be great for some task cards.  And I couldn't resist these bright pencils.

3)  We opened our pool now that we are FINALLY starting to get some warmer temps here in N. Georgia.  I still can't believe what a cool and rainy spring it has been.  (Sorry, picture was taken through the bedroom window...hence the screen.)

4)  My hubby plowed up the garden.  I visited the dreaded Walmart yesterday and bought some plants and seeds so that we can get some yummy veggies growing.

5)  Crystal Fox (aka The Library Fox) drew this adorable "mini-me" for my new blog.  (I love the fact that black is so slimming!!!  haha)
And that's just a very small sample of my EXTREMELY busy last week at school!

The Greatest Pencil Sharpener EVER

What is your number #1 pet peeve?  I'm not sure if this is my number1, but it IS one of my biggest...

Yep, I've tried about everything.  I've sharpened pencils and had them waiting for the students.  I've allowed a pencil sharpening time each morning.   I've even given students personal pencil sharpeners as gifts (2-3 times a year), but yet there is ALWAYS an issue with pencils.

Have you seen, heard or even used one of these FANTASTIC pencil sharpeners?

If you ask me, it's one of the GREATEST items ever invented!  haha
You can do some SERIOUS writing with that sharp point!
I sharpened all of these in just a couple of joke!

I showed it to the asst. principal and principal.  They were so impressed that they showed the PTO president, who then ordered enough for EVERY teacher at my school.

Isn't that the PRETTIEST color of blue??
One of the best gifts ever given to us!

Believe me, if you try it ONE time, you'll never use any other!

My friend Christi over at Ms. Fultz's Corner is hosting a giveaway for one of these fabulous sharpeners.  Stop by to enter.  Hopefully, you'll be the lucky winner!

And speaking of winning, I've joined in on a

Familiar Face, New Place!

Welcome to my new blog.  Previously, you might have found me on 2nd Grade Pad.  I will be changing grades for next year.  I am completely skipping 3rd Grade and moving straight to 4th grade.  I am very excited about the new ideas this will allow me to share with you.  For my 2nd grade friends, never fear, my products will still be geared for 2nd-4th grade.  I have promised my dear, sweet 2nd grade coworkers that I won't dessert them, so there will still be plenty of things you can use.  I'm looking forward to see where this move will take me and decided that it was time for a change in my blog to reflect that change.

I hope my former followers will hang with me. For those of you new to my journey, please join my blog as a follower.

Try out my cute glittery social buttons also to become a follower of my Facebook page (where you'll find another freebie), my Pinterest page (LOTS of real pictures), and my TPT store (lots of products).

As a HUGE thank you for joining my new blog, I have a special little unit.  These posters can be displayed in your classroom to help your students with those confusing words know as homophones.  Just click on the rafflecopter and enter your e-mail.  I will e-mail this unit straight out to you.  This offer is only good until Sunday, May 26th (midnight).  Thanks so much for joining in!

Now, step into my world as I share with you 25 years of experience and show you more of
